Well...I am not discouraged. It is important to know the truth. My goal was 30 different plant families for the week. I managed 15. Ugh! Instead of counting servings of fruit, veggies, seeds, and grains, the goal is to count varieties. So seven servings of lettuce would only count as seven if you ate different varieties, but if you had seven servings of iceburg lettuce, that only counts as one. This is probably the most important guideline for what to eat...30 varieties a week of fruits, veggies, seeds and grains.
